Why is GitLab Sending Email Notifications Twice?

This question has been asked many times by various developers at the company I work for.
Why I am receiving notification emails twice from GitLab when something happens during a pipeline execution?
There are two settings that have to do with email notifications.
- In global/user settings
- At the project level, ~/YourProject/-/integrations/settings/pipelines_email/
If you enable notifications from your profile AND through integrations, you will receive two emails, depending on the type of event you have configured notifications for.
In my case, I rely on my profile settings (to minimize noise in my inbox) and global settings as set by the team’s GitLab admin.
